About GXL Homes
A Hamilton building company that does one thing: build good homes in the Waikato.
What the name means
GXL stands for Genuine, Xceptional, Lifestyle, and the three words are the standard we hold ourselves to.
Genuine — we give you our honest view of what a build will cost and how long it will take, including when the answer is not what you hoped. What is in the contract is what gets built, and any change to it is agreed with you in writing.
Xceptional — the parts of a house you will still be looking at in twenty years are the parts we take the most trouble over. Straight lines, tidy junctions, and work done properly the first time.
Lifestyle — a house is where a family actually lives. Sun in the right rooms, a kitchen that works, storage where you need it, and a section you will use.
The line in our logo
The blue line running under the GXL mark is the Waikato River. It is the longest river in the country, it runs through the middle of Hamilton, and it shaped this region and the people who live here long before any of us started building on it.
We build in the Waikato and nowhere else. Putting the river into our logo was a way of saying that plainly: this is where we are from, this is the community our homes are for, and we intend to still be here in twenty years when those homes are being sold to their second owners.
How a build runs with us
First conversation, design and pricing, consent, on site, handover. There are no surprises in that list, and that is the point — you should know what happens next at every stage.

Built under LBP supervision
Every GXL home is built under the supervision of a Licensed Building Practitioner, as the Building Act requires for restricted building work.

GXL Homes Ltd is a member of the Registered Master Builders Association of New Zealand, which is what allows us to offer the Master Build 10-Year Guarantee. More on our guarantee.
